December 2011

Important Information

• February meeting will be on February 7th instead of the 14th in order to avoid Valentine's day at Wallaby's

• ABL Open at Eric and Susan's house was a great time

  • Mike won BOS beer with an Ordinary Bitter

  • Christine won BOS mead with her Triple Berry Melomel

• ABL Raffle - January 24th at Olde Main

  • Mike & Becka have started sending emails to get donations

• Manic Beer Tasting

  • Tasted a few examples at the Nov. Olde Main meeting as well as at the competition

New Business

• February meeting will be moved to February 7th - see above

• Styles of the Month

  • January will be open to all categories and February will be Irish, English, and Scottish beers

  • The rest will be decided at the January meeting

• Beers to You and Gourmet Too - Homebrew Competition/Festival

• BYO Subscriptions

  • $14 per subscription - this is half the retail price

  • We need at least 10 people from the club to sign up for this to get it

  • I'll be sending an email later with more information

• Powder Keggers at JCHH

  • Becka and other Powder Keggers will be serving their beer at el Bait Shop on January 29th starting at 6pm for Jimmy Carter Happy Hour.  Come out and support our women brewers!

- Christine won a 2^nd place medal for her Scotch/Wee heavy and  two 3^rd place ribbons for her IPA and Berry Mead
